India fascinates me and as l couldn't go there l wanted to make a piece of my summer dream of India. It needed to represent my idea of India, the richness,the hot vibrant colours and the heat.

Lots of hand dyed pieces were overlayered with nets and chiffons and some were block printed and some burnt away. I overpainted with acrylics and gold leaf and also used texture papers and medium. It was machine stitched and painted again. The finished shape appealed to me as India is such a vibrant bustling place that it needed an irregular shape, as if it was going in different directions.
