The inspiration for this hanging came from one of the greatest painters of all time, Klimt. I love the patterns and symbols and the beautiful rich colours that are in his paintings. I never get tired of looking at them and always seem to find something new each time.

I used many different mediums in this piece including silk dyes, acrylic paints and gold leaf; and lots of bonding fabrics to the base, which was calico. The centre has fibre that has been acid dyed and also expanding medium was used and developed with a hot tool. The heading and the circles at the bottom were developed from vilene. I overpainted the hanging after machine and hand stitching had been done.
